Sad News
We just received a call from our good friend and tutor who is the brother of our branch president. Hermano and Hermana Robenales and his wife (who also has become a very good friend of ours) were just killed in a plane crash on the way to their humanitarian assignment. Four North Americans were with them, and a couple from our apartment who are humanitarian missionaries in the Area were to meet them by car. We have called our Area President and others who needed to know because the funeral will be tonight at 10:00 p.m. We have just made a casserole and will go out to the funeral. Our hearts are saddened for the children: Daniel 17, Laura 15 and Josue (on a mission). Heavenly Father must have needed these people and will bless the family left behind. I can't even begin to tell of the powerful work this couple has been doing in Guatemala. These projects have been their life work. This country has been enriched and helped in countless ways and many lives have been enriched as they have set up building projects, schools, water projects, and so many other things. While this foundation has not been an arm of the church many LDS missionaries have assisted them in these projects. In fact, we asked the brother to become our tutor because Sr. Robenales suggested and recommended him. He has been a blessing in our lives as has our branch president and his wonderful wife.
