all is well

How blessed we are! The funeral was incredible. It was nearly the size of our stake conference. These people had become good friends. The children are surely looked after by angels. There is not doubt in our minds that these people were needed elsewhere. Family Home Evening last night focused on using Spanish at every chance. Kim and I have laughed many times at our efforts to speak. We are doing our best and it is a supreme adventure. We read much better and can understand text. Hearing is more difficult than speaking.

As we plug along in our job things are beginning to become more concrete. We can see a path. These ideas are not ours and we are so grateful for this guidance. I have been trying to memorize, "I Am a Child of God." The words "guide me, lead me" which is the order of the words in Spanish have come to mean a lot.

Last night we had an experience that may sound silly and insignificant, but it was a moment of revelation to us. We have felt it to be a tiny voice in our hearts. A few months ago this experience would have passed us by, but last night we were ready to hear it and at that moment we needed it. We had written a long letter to our children on the church computer and just as I ended the letter it disappeared from the screen. We lost it somehow. We felt so discouraged. When we got home a few minutes later we realized one kleenex box on the counter was empty. I had purchased an extra and put it in the pantry a week ago. I looked and looked for it but couldn't find it. Kim finally came in to search and in a few minutes he called and told me to come in as he had located it. When I came he said, "Look up! It's on the top shelf". All of a sudden a sweet feeling came over both of us. "Look up!" We began laughing as we shared this moment of revelation. It wasn't a coincidence. That is my message tonight. "

"Look Up!"
